For over fifty years, we have been designing and making furniture from solid timbers. Each piece is crafted individually, not mass-produced, and we can custom-make it to your measurements, timber choice and finishes. It is how we’ve always worked even in the beginning.

We began in a farm shed in 1972 when our father, John, decided he had seen enough poorly made, disposable furniture. Using time proven traditional methods like mortise and tenon joints and dovetail drawers, he continued to craft furniture from solid timbers. Ten years later, as the company grew and employed more and more local trade’s people, we moved to our current factory showroom in the Adelaide hills town of Littlehampton, just 5 minutes from historic German village, Hahndorf.

Today our furniture is available through our stores in Littlehampton workshop and Norwood in Adelaide. It’s a true family business, owned and operated by brothers Andrew and David Pfitzner, and together we develop the designs and manage every aspect of the product design and quality.

We realise that we can’t be the best at everything so, in addition to handcrafting timber furniture and upholstery, we partner with others who are the best at what they do. Since 1999, Pfitzner has been home to Adelaide’s largest range of Norwegian Stressless comfort recliners, sofas & now dining . We also now stock a beautiful range of European outdoor furniture from internationally respected garden furniture brands including Vincent Sheppard and Cotswold teak.
